Xanderisms and Flint Facts

Our boys are a joy to use and keep us busy and entertained on good days and on not so good days busy and frustrated. But I guess boys will be boys.

Some recent Xanderisms:

We were eating venison for dinner and to get X to eat better Todd told him that this was the deer that he and dad got hunting. Xander ate a few bites, looked over the table and then asked, "Where's the head?"

Todd telling Xander a cautionary tale of how Uncle Chad broke his arm when he was trying to help Todd down the stairs when they were Xander and Flint's ages. Xander thought about that for a day or so and then asked, "Mom, how did they reattach uncle Chad's arm when he broke it?"

I sent Xander to school with extra hats and gloves so if a pair gets wet he has extras. Apparently they were headed outside to play and Xander had both of his stocking hats from his cubby and his teacher said, "Xander you can't wear two hats." Xander doesn't say a word, but gives his teacher 'the look' that mom and dad know so well, (oh yeah.....). Places both hats on top of his head and goes outside.

Xander was singing himself a song the other night, think London Bridge. Here are his lyrics: "One of the bridges are falling down, falling down...."

Dad likes to encourage Xander to eat his meat and other food items by saying, "it is 'MAN FOOD.' The other week while eating Peanut-butter and Jelly, Xander proclaims, "This is 'MAN FOOD.' Alright, not exactly what I was thinking, but I guess that works.

Flint is getting to be more boy than baby. His words have not developed too much, but he is good at his 'more' sign. More can mean more outside, more food, more sleep, more...you get the idea. I want something. We have been working on the 'please' sign lately because he gets insistent and vocal quite quick.
He is walking and climbing like a champ. He like to climb on the chairs and has even made it up to the table a few times. He like to climb on top of the toilet and pull all of the kleenex out of the box. He loves mom and dad hugs and he loves sleep, these are good things. We just moved Flint to the downstairs bedroom, so now he and Xander are next to each other. This is nice and really helps because Xander has been going through a lonely period. It seems Flint is fixing this.
