Mother's Day

We had a nice Mother's Day. The sun was shining and we had a nice family outing. After Grandma Verla and Grandpa Berge left we decided to go to on a hike at Copper Falls State Park. We stopped at the grocery store and picked up some picnic food and then headed south. It was a gorgeous day, a bit of a chilly wind, but great to be out and about and enjoying the outdoors.

After our lunch, ready to hike
Over the bridge we go. There is a really great trail that was built by CCC workers.

Xander checking out the roaring river. He requested to bring his own backpack (Spiderman) filled with snacks that he picked out (candy).

Xander and Mama

Thumbs up for getting out of the house on a great day!

Devil's gate, down stream a bit you can see where the river ate through a layer of harder rock (I read the sign's I just don't remember what type of rock)

Flint checking out the noisy river down below...WHOA!

Our best attempt at a mother and son photo for Mother's Day
Here comes Flint & Mama

Flint trucking along, he walked about 3/4 a mile.

Boys exploring ahead

Copper Falls

Again the falls, the water was really flowing

Xander says, "Wait for ME!"

Xander said his highlight of the day was climbing on the rock pile...typical, but they did enjoy it.

More falls where two rivers meet (I know it's the Bad River, and maybe Tyler River?)

Swinging at the playground

Whee!
