To take advantage of the 3 day weekend for Memorial Day we thought we should really get going on potty training Xander. And of course why not invite out Oma and Opa Ament to visit (help :). Xander had been going pee on the potty sporadically for a few months, but nothing consistent. We would like to get him well potty trained before Little Gibbon II comes along and before mom gets too much bigger to bend over anc change diapers.
I had a co-worker who had good success with a 3 day potty training regimen on her son a few months ago. So we read up online and starting saturday morning we threw Xander's diapers away (they are in a garbage bag in the garage) and went without pants. We gave him as much juice and chocolate milk as he wanted to increase the repition and he did quite well...with the peeing on the potty. Must have eaten too much cheese, because Xander only pooped 3 times all weekend, once in his night pull-ups, the other time on the floor, and one time on the potty.
Overall, he has been doing well and we are going without pants when we are at home. Daycare is a different story, he has been in pull-ups and has had slower success, but sat on the potty for a while today.
The weekend was not real nice weather-wise, but I guess that didn't make us feel too bad about staying home with Xander. We did make it out on the boat Sunday afternoon, the lake was calm, but the weather cloudy and cool. We brought Xander's potty, but he wouldn't go on the boat. He didn't have an accident though, he held it for four hours! Then went pee on his potty when we got back to the shore by the car :).

It rained quite a bit on Monday morning and afternoon, and there was standing water in the yard, so we got some good pictures and videos of Xander playing pantsless. Dad doesn't think we should show the vidoes here as they might be considered by some child porn and I carefully screened the photos so that I think they are appropriate. If you even come to visit and want to see Xander running half naked through water puddles, let us know :) (It is pretty cute.)
