Deer Hunting Season

Todd and Xander built a deer hunting shack last srping and they have been talking about shooting deer ever since. They even take the nerf guns to the cardboard box fort in the basement and practice for shooting deer. So a week and a half ago, they went out to put the shack up. There were some technical difficulties and this year the shack is sitting on the ground, but nonetheless there was some deer hunting to be had.
Xader got up with dad at 4:30 on opening morning and went out to grandma Julie's and grandpa John's for coffee (and hot chocolate) before going to the shack. They didn't see any deer and Xander was more than ready to come home by 9:00 when mom had to come get him. He was a bit over tired. Todd commented, "it was really fun hanging out with him, but kind of like having my own personal marching band in the shack with me."
Sunday morning Todd went out by himself and the plan was for me to bring Xander out at 9:00. Fortunately we were running a bit behind, because he got a doe about 9:20. Xander was pretty excited for his dad and they had fun taking care of the deer while Flint, I and Tara went to Duluth.
