Last evening we had a puppy scare, for an unknown reason Sophie had an allergic reaction. I was in the kitchen and she came and puked in the kitchen. I cleaned it up, fed her a small amount of food and then let her and Polar outside. I let them back in less than 5 minutes later and we noticed that her face was swelling.
We got her to take a benedryl and then she puked again. We had only one more benedryl left in the house, so got her to take that and then got a hold of the vet after hours. He said to give her up to 3 benedryl and not to give her any food or water. So Todd raced to the grocery store to pick up additional benedryl and I sat on the kitchen floor petting Sophie. She seemed to be okay, but kept rubbing her face on everything. Her cheeks and lips were so puffy that they were taught.
She seemed to be doing okay last night, but she got to sleep inside. This morning she seems to be feeling better, but is still a little puffy, especially around her eyes. Much to her dismay the vet said we shouldn't feed her until noon, so she didn't get any breakfast. Hopefully the swelling will continue to go down.
The great puppy parents we are, we had to take pictures of our poor suffering puppy (she does look pretty goofy...)

How scary for all of you! It's good to hear that she is doing better. Did you find out what caused the reaction? Maybe she got into something outside?
